I think the forgiving nature of the sweet people of Vietnam is remarkable considering our history together.
One a bike ride, I passed a wedding party to which I was graciously invited to attend. We rode on an oxcart through terraced rice paddies to their home where we ate fried beetles, fish from their pond, greens from their garden, and a list of other unidentifiable apparently edible food, We ate with our fingers on the floor of their open-air house with no doors, windows, or furniture. Also no internet, no electricity, no locks, no running water, and no bathroom.
