Your small group custom adventure begins in Porto with a Fado experience and takes you to Little Portuguese Tibet and to an ancient Roman settlement touching on the path of the Camino de Santiago. You’ll walk through the villages of Monsanto, build into boulders, and to the medieval village of Monsaraz and its castle. Sampling port wine and learning to cook some of Portugal’s flavorful cuisine is an integral part of this extraordinary 13-day journey.
3 nights in Porto
Day 1
You’ll be met at the airport in Porto and taken to our hotel before enjoying a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Porto at Moov Hotel Porto Centro.
Day 2
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a food and wine tour that includes lunch. You'll have free time in the afternoon to explore Porto before enjoying a typical Portuguese Fado music experience. Dinner and overnight in Porto at Moov Hotel Porto Centro.
Day 3
Following breakfast, you'll spend the day on a Duoro Valley wine tour and river cruise.

2 nights in Sistelo
Day 4
After breakfast, you'll have a bit of time to wander Porto's old city along the Duoro River before heading north along the coast toward our overnight destination: Luna Arcos Hotel Nature & Spa.
Day 5
After breakfast, we’ll visit the village of Sistelo (Little Portuguese Tibet) and view the impressive terraces of Sistelo. Meals and overnight in Sistelo at Luna Arcos Hotel Nature & Spa.
1 night in Coimbra
Day 6
We'll leave our gear behind and walk on a portion of the Camino de Santiago. Our van will be waiting with our gear, to take us onward to Coimbra. We'll stop for a picnic lunch along our route. Dinner and overnight in Coimbra at Hotel Astoria.
1 night in Monsanto
Day 7
We'll visit an ancient Roman settlement after breakfast before driving to historic Monsanto, a village with the distinction of being a living museum. We'll take an afternoon walk through the village to a the viewpoint of Petiscos & Granitos, and to the castle of Monsanto. Dinner and overnight in Monsanto at Quinta da Pedra Grande or similar.
2 nights in Monsaraz
Day 8
After breakfast, we’ll drive to see the Castelo de Vide and explore the historic village of Marvão before continuing on to Monsaraz, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night at Casa Saramago or similar.
Day 9 We'll take an historic tour after breakfast, have lunch in the village, then take an easy afternoon walk on the Steinkreis Loop before dinner. Overnight in Monsaraz at Casa Saramago or similar.
3 nights in Setubal
Day 10
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Praia do Sissal where we’ll walk a 2.8 mile loop on the Grand Fisherman’s Trail. After our walk, our van will take us to Setubal. Dinner and overnight in Setubal at B&B Hotel Sado Setúbal.
Day 11
After breakfast, we'll take a drive through Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood, then have some fun in a Portuguese cooking class. You'll have free time in the later afternoon for a walk to the beach in Setubal. Dinner and overnight in Setubal at B&B Hotel Sado Setúbal.
Day 12
On our last full day together includes we’ll head to the Sintra Castle/Pena National Palace/Castle of the Moors, and Sintra old town center, visit the Palace Regaleira. Our last dinner together will be a classic Portuguese meal at Tasca Kefish. Overnight in Setubal at B&B Hotel Sado Setúbal.
Day 13
The final day Includes breakfast and airport transfers to Humberto Delgado Airport. For international flights, you should plan to arrive at Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport 3 hours before your flight. The airport is approximately 35 minutes from our hotel in Setubal.
